2024 – a year of milestones. While at Universal Works, we celebrate our 15th anniversary, our friends over at Rotterdam-based independent clothing store and brand, Funkie House have turned 35. Since opening their doors in 1989, they have become one of the best known stockists of authentic, well-designed clothing in the Netherlands.

We are excited to announce a new collaboration between Universal Works and respected Japanese bag makers, master-piece, for AW24. This capsule collection brings together both brands’ dedication to functional, everyday design, featuring a range of bags, jackets, and accessories.

We are excited to announce a collaborative project with our friends at Progress Running Club. Progress is a vibrant sports community and clothing store inspired by 80s running culture and founded by long-time friend of UW, Mark Batista. The club welcomes runners of all levels and promotes a sense of achievement with every step, values that are also integral to the Universal Works Sports and Social running group.

Following the success of our initial collaborative project, we couldn't resist reconnecting with certified masters of the laid-back moccasin, Yogi, for another joint venture that’s available for Spring/Summer '24.

We’re pleased to announce a new joint venture with Berlin-based vinyl, apparel, and sneaker destination, and long-term UW stockist, HHV. This second collaboration and Future Friendship Project is presented under a tagline inspired by the one used the first time around: “Traditional Beat, International Artist, Traditional Piece, International Garment”. This concept taps into HHV’s vinyl roots, UW’s workwear influences, and both companies' far-reaching vision and international outlook.

We’ve come together with legendary Finnish sportswear brand Karhu for a collaborative project, part of our ongoing Future Friendship series. This meeting of minds celebrates Karhu’s heritage and the UW philosophy of working with like-minded partners who share their authentic vision of peace, love and – in this case – sole!

For our most recent project with Japanese bicycle company tokyobike, we have taken the notion of inner-city cycling to a whole new level.  Rolling under the ‘Make Nice Things’ banner, this latest collab explores the pleasure of enjoying the journey. 

We are pleased to share the latest details of an ongoing collaborative project with Japanese courier company, Logiquest. Dating back to 2017, we continue our partnership with an updated working wardrobe, consisting of existing Universal Works styles that have been reimagined to fit the needs of Logiquest’s team.

St Ives sits facing the Atlantic on England’s most south-western tip. With crystal clear turquoise sea, four soft, sandy beaches and the warmest summer temperatures in Blighty, there’s no wonder it’s a popular spot. This laid-back Cornish seaside town is a favourite for Universal Works founders David and Stephanie, who make the pilgrimage down there whenever they’re in need of a serious seaside mood boost.

Once again, we have joined together with Slovakian footwear masters, Novesta, for what is our 8th collaboration and for SS22 we are releasing a capsule of bespoke camo print rubber sole shoes!

Thanks to a unique friendship with the HIP store in Leeds, Universal Works and Bundobust have come together to create a mini capsule collection and uniforms for the Bundobust team.

Universal Works is pleased to announce a collaboration with one of the world’s most well respected denim retailers. Tenue de Nîmes has been a mecca for denim lovers since it was first launched by  founder Menno van Meurs in 2008, based on Elandsgracht in the Jordaan district of Amsterdam.

Exciting news! We have teamed up once again to produce a custom-made, heart-patterned Windcheater Jacket. Originally (back in 2017) made in ecru with red hearts, now returns like an old flame but this time in black with ecru.

For AW20 we have come together with our friends at Sebago® for a special capsule collection.

Last Winter Universal Works worked on a special collaboration with The Bureau, that’s when David Keyte and Bureau’s founder Micheal Hamilton, had a conversation about some deadstock US Army Camouflage jackets that they owned and decided to work on them together.   

We have come together again with Sebago® for a capsule collection for Spring-Summer 2020, with our take on: the 'Portland' boating shoe, the 'John' lace up sneaker and the 'Jack' slip on.

When adidas called it did not take us long to say yes to working on a project with them. adidas, of course, is a big global brand and make some great products, but it was more about the reasons they asked us and their commitment to the project that impressed us most.

Stag Provisions opened their first store in Austin, Texas 10 years ago and we are proud to have been supplying them for nearly as long. 10 years on, they have stores in Austin, Dallas, Houston, and Venice, CA, and are still great fans of UW.

Our friends and stockists GOODHOOD are launching a capsule collection in collaboration with Joy Division, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the bands iconic 1979 album Unknown Pleasures.

A collaboration born out of love that spans decades, the Universal Works x Birkenstock collection for men launching this spring, will be available in two styles: The classic Boston and the Zurich. Both models have been given a contemporary and tonal update by Universal Works, whilst ensuring the timeless Birkenstock quality and legendary comfort is kept at the core.

To celebrate Wellgosh's 30th (30 years!) Anniversary we teamed up with the Leicester lads for this one off collaborate capsule collection which nods to their past.

This week, we’ve got a special project coming out with Oi Polloi. We’ve been working with the guys at Oi Polloi for a long time, since our very first season in fact. The OP boys really know their stuff when it comes to good clothes, and we like to think we do too.

We have come together with our friends and stockist LE FIX in Copenhagen for a very special project.

Our relationship with Novesta started in 2015 after a meeting in New York where Novesta suggested we collaborate with them. Later that year we needed footwear for our Spring Summer ’16 presentation, which they supplied. It seemed the ideal opportunity to take them up on their offer to collaborate.

Our Ltd. Store launched a couple of weeks ago with a collaborative collection at the independent department store and stockist in Winchester - The Hambledon.

Our Novestas for SS17 continue the military tones of the 'Revolution' using canvas uppers and all-over olive and navy colourways. We’ve also added our spin on the classic white sneaker with the natural ecru. 

This week, our good friends and stockist Uncle Otis celebrated 25 years of trading in Toronto. To celebrate their 25th Anniversary, they worked with us and several other companies, all who embrace and reflect the philosophy of Uncle Otis to make a special capsule collection.

This season we’ve upped our game, producing four minimalist colourways from Burel Wool, a Portuguese felt fabric known for its water resistance and durability. Burel is a premium textile manufacturer based in the mountainous Serra da Estrela region of Portugal, an area known for its felt making knowledge that has been passed down for generations.

We are excited to unveil a special project we’ve been working on with Barbour. For this project we looked at three of Barbour’s classic bags, reworking them with needs of contemporary man in mind.

PEACE.LOVE.SOUL is a project by Universal Works and Satta about peace, love, and soul. Offered to a select international group of stores, the project is about global connections, the people around the world who love Satta and ourselves.

We’ve teamed up with our good friends and long time stockists The Hip Store in Leeds to make an exclusive version on one of our classics. The Hip Store has been sourcing carefully selected menswear since 1987 and they’ve been offering UW since our first season way back in 2009 when we only sold to a total of 9 stores.

This Saturday we are launching a special sneaker with American running veterans Saucony Originals, with our Shadow OG “Work” Pack.
