We are excited to unveil a special project we’ve been working on with Barbour.
J Barbour & Sons Ltd was founded in 1894 in the North East of England. They are a fifth generation family owned business, renowned for manufacturing quality clothing, especially the wax jacket variety. They also boast three Royal Warrants so you can safely say they are a bit of a British institution.
For this project we looked at three of Barbour’s classic bags, reworking them with needs of contemporary man in mind. The bags are all constructed from Barbour's classic wax cotton, mixed with contemporary plastic hardware and heavy duty nylon, with pockets and spaces for laptops, mobile phones and keys. Stylish, utilitarian and strong enough to take anything your day-to-day can throw at them.
The spacious Alliance Backpack is ideal for a city commute with plenty of space, an inner padded laptop compartment, foldover closure and a large divided pocket to the outer front with two side pockets.
The wax cotton Advance Holdall is spacious and versatile, created for weekends away. It features a distinctive large outer front pocket with Velcro fastening flap, strong webbing grab handles and a removable shoulder strap.
The Active Tarras is an all round bag inspired by Barbour’s original Country Tarras bag. It features an inner padded laptop compartment and phone slip pocket, with two traditional outer front bellow pockets for easy access.
The design process was a fun one for this project and it’s great to see our young company share a co-branded label stitched onto some fantastic bags that we’re really proud of.
