Many will know David Holden as the friendly face, charming man and all round retail guru that you'll find at our Lambs Conduit Street Store. But what many of you may not know is that when he isn't busy in a Universal Works store, he’s usually working on an exciting business venture.

Recently moving from London to sunny Folkestone, David and partner Sophie opened up “The Potting Shed, selling beautiful antique objects for homes and gardens. But if you know David Holden well, you’d be right to guess that this is not your ordinary antique store... This one comes with its very own speakeasy!

Hidden within the antique store lies a secret door that transports you to a stylish cocktail bar, inspired by Prohibition and the underground culture of the speakeasy bars of the 1920s. Customers must reveal a password to be allowed access to the hidden space, where you will be served cocktails using the finest ingredients and mixology techniques. But we wont reveal all of the surprises go and take a visit and find out for yourselves!  To find out more and visit here.
