Kvatt is Back.

When something comes along that can help with ways to reduce our impact on the planet, we always want to get involved. So when a chance encounter with Kvatt led us to discover their innovative packaging ideas, we knew this was something to explore.

Kvatt is a company that helps us and other brands reduce their environmental impact through its circular packaging solution. Their reusable bags are designed with longevity in mind (ideally being sent back to Kvatt, cleaned and used again between 10-20 times). A Kvatt sack emits less CO2eq than single-use cardboard after the second use, and after 10 uses it emits 42% less. So the more it is used, the more impact it makes.

From being the only fashion brand on board on day one, to one of many brands now, we are so proud to have been a part of the mission from the start. With almost three years under our belt of working together, we catch up with their CEO Gianfranco. He started Kvatt after moving from Switzerland to New York, discovering the downside of next-day deliveries—seeing all the cardboard that emerged from a particularly chaotic Christmas present buying session. With lots of exciting developments on the horizon, he shares Kvatt’s plans for the future with us; “Sustainability is the end goal. Systems that sustain themselves. [And] circularity is the strategy to reach that goal.”

Gianfranco explains; “If someone returns or exchanges their order using Kvatt’s reusable packaging, that’s great! They would follow UW’s return or exchange process and, like the usual Kvatt process, the packaging will be stored at UW’s warehouse, where Kvatt will pick it up to have it cleaned and reused.”

It goes without saying that responsibility is a collaboration between us all. We hope by providing an option to help make a difference, we can all contribute—all those small ways add up to something bigger in the end, after all.

A few final words from Gianfranco—“It’s been a journey! I am extremely excited by these next steps. In the near future our goal will be to establish Kvatt as a leader in circular, wasteless experiences. As a startup, things change quite fast. But I think that our expertise grew exponentially in the past two years. Both our knowledge in terms of packaging and circularity has been transferred to our technology.”
