Whatever corner of the world UW finds itself in, we find friends of ours. Like in Hong Kong and Japan, where our Co-Founders David and Stephanie spent last week meeting with old and new connections.
Our favourite parts of these trips are those hidden spots off the beaten track that local friends recommend—which this time meant great cultural spaces, some of the best vintage stores in the world, and unexpected feasts at restaurants and markets.
In between meetings and emails back to UW HQ, there was shopping (bringing some vintage home and saying hello to our stockists), a day at the M+ Museum in Hong Kong, and marvelling at both the cherry blossom and the Shinkansen train system in Japan.
There is something to be said about the value of face-to-face connection. Turning up, saying hello, showing our appreciation and having a good old brainstorm. We can’t wait to tell you about all the exciting projects we have going on—more on those soon.
