Product Highlight: 'The Zip Chore Waistcoat.'
Vest, gilet, waistcoat? Whatever you like to call them... David gave us a breakdown of the ever-popular layering item which is always featured within our collections and what he likes to call them.
"For me, the names mean much the same, and for sure the waistcoat or the “vest” as Americans call it, is just a gilet in France.
Here in the UK in today's day we often think of a gilet as an outwear piece, the “Zip Gilet” was inspired by old French leather gilets worn by workers. They gave added "coverall" protection when at work with the added bonus of those useful pockets for tools and such things.
I guess I have always loved the layering that's possible with a gilet or a vest, and in summer this really does come into its own as a sleeveless jacket, which let's face it is where the name ‘waistcoat” comes from. Just remember for me it's less Gareth Southgate and more chic French artisan. "
New for this season the Zip Chore Waistcoat in three fantastic summer fabrics, Jersey, Chambray, and Linen Lincott. With three nifty pockets useful for when you're on the go and a dual way zip for ease of styling.
