Short and Sweet.

Short and Sweet.

The Trucker Jacket.

“The Trucker is our take on a classic denim jacket. Ours is a more loose fit than you might see on classic western jackets—more urban London than cowboys at the rodeo.”

The Rose Bowl.

“A classic shape, tweaked to make right for today. This is wide, and made to be a bit shorter to sit at the waist. With generous proportions and generous pockets.”

From James Dean in his denim to the ‘indie kids’ of the early ’00s, shorter jackets have been a style mainstay across the world for decades. Easy to wear, casual in fit but ready to dress up if you need to, they are back in the picture and having much more than just a moment.

With plenty of shorter jackets arriving with the new season, we caught up with our Co-Founders David and Stephanie to tell us a little bit about some of their favourites.

The Windcheater.

“The Windcheater for us is a long term favourite. Very simple in styling but again just right for now. This is loose without being oversized, casual but with details that mean you can dress it up too. With big, modern looking pockets including an unusual (for a Windcheater) welted chest pocket, giving an essentially informal jacket an air of understated sophistication.”

The E130.

“The E130 is a huge nod to the early uniform jackets of the ’50s through to the ’80s. With a comfortable loose fit, oversized pockets and rear pleated details. Dress this up or down depending on your mood and it will reward you all day.”

The Pembroke.

“Loose and oversized, the Pembroke is a windcheater-like style. This season, we made it feel ‘of the moment’ with more generous proportions.”

And as for how our Co-Founders wear them?

Stephanie Porritt: “These also look great worn as a zip-front shirt, especially the Rose Bowl in Polytech, giving that contemporary James Dean vibe with a cleaner aesthetic. They make a great silhouette teamed with a wider or fuller trouser.”

David Keyte: “For me these are all great summer jackets that are easy to wear with casual pants or shorts and tees, but also work really well if you want to dress them up with matching pants as an alternative smart ‘suit’ look.”
