We first connected with Co-Barbers founder, Kerr Sutherland, during our Good People, Good Places Berlin project back in 2022, and we've kept in touch ever since. In May this year, we caught up with Kerr during a trip to Berlin, sparking the initial conversations about a potential Co-Barbers pop-up at UW Berlin. Fast forward to now, and we're thrilled to announce that the Co-Barbers Studio team has just set up shop in our exhibition space at 28 Rosa-Luxemburg-Straße for a month-long pop-up, open throughout August 2024.

Co-Barbers is a community hair studio created to offer a salon experience that is private, gender-neutral, and welcoming to all. The entire operation is overseen by Kerr and his team—a diverse group of talented barbers from various backgrounds, each with their own specialities, ranging from experts in long hair to self-proclaimed fade masters. Regardless of their signature styles, the Co-Barbers team is united by a shared passion for their craft.

Inspired by a recent trip to NYC, Kerr has designed a temporary installation featuring movable barber units covered in mosaic gold tiles, complete with cubby holes for their tools (lined with orange plexiglass as a nod to their permanent studio vibe), a basket for towels, and charging ports.

So, if you’re in Berlin this month and looking to refresh your wardrobe, why not go all in and get a trim (or even a Universal Works facial) while you’re at it?

Special thanks to Lyon and the team at Trüffelschwein, who manage the Berlin Partnership store, for the introduction and their ongoing support.
