To celebrate a long-standing friendship with our stockist (and new restaurant owner) Bottiglieria, we visited Rome for a special evening: The Butcher / The Baker / The Candle Stick Maker.

At a dinner during Pitti in Florence, where David and Stefano (*owner of Bottiglieria), were discussing their backgrounds as the son of a baker and the son of a butcher.  This reminded David of the old English nursery rhyme, "Rub-A-Dub-Dub" and the idea of a collaboration was born.

This rhyme, which dates back to the 14th century, goes something like:

‘Rub-a-dub-dub,

Three men in a tub,

And who do you think they be?

The butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker,

And all of them out to sea.’

The collaboration, a limited edition UW x Bottiglieria Bakers Jacket, inspired by a traditional fabric that butchers would have worn, a 100% cotton twill in blue and white stripe.

 Stefano worked with David on a limited edition UW x Bottiglieria, Bakers Jacket. Made in 100% cotton with a contrast stripe indigo yarn, inspired by traditional fabric that butchers would have worn. 

To complete the trio, David called upon candlemakers 'Form', run by long term friend Sandra Lawrence, to create a special UW x Form Candle. Her candles are hand-poured in the UK, using a blend of 100% natural wax and fine fragrance oil.

We headed to Rome, to join the guys for their in-store party, which was followed by a fantastic dinner at TSBP.
