What's the Difference? Camp vs Road Shirt.

We get it. Our Road and Camp Shirts can look pretty similar at first glance. And now, with the Camper Shirt and the Sal Road Shirt in the mix, you might be wondering why they all exist. Each one is designed with subtle differences in fit and detail. Prefer a looser shape or a more classic cut? More pockets or fewer? Those small tweaks help you find the right shirt for you—or build a solid rotation for the week.

We like to call our Road Shirt a ‘no-fuss’ style, and by that we mean this is a simple, regular fit shirt, with a straight hem and one patch pocket at the front. It was designed to be worn open at the top, but there is a loop-close button if you wanted to smarten things up.

The Road Shirt takes its name from one of our Co-Founder David’s favourite novels—On the Road by Jack Kerouac. So, when we wanted to create a riff on this style, we named it the Sal, a character from the book. The Sal has the same fit as the Road, but two chest pockets, which gives the fabrics we have chosen—Seersuckers and Pastel Checks—a more balanced look. The same loop-close top button (designed to be worn open) makes an appearance.

We then added another to the mix—Dean, another character from On the Road. This is the same classic fit as the Road Shirt, but this time with a contrasting border trim on the sleeves and hem, and no pockets.

Larger and more relaxed than the Road Shirt, the Camp Shirt has a wider collar for balance and proportion, again designed to be worn open (but with added top loop for closure). With a longer rear hem with side splits, a back yoke and a slightly larger chest pocket to balance everything out.

Camper Shirt: The Camper is the same as the Camp (with the open collar, stepped rear hem and back yoke), but with an additional chest pocket... extra pockets, longer name!
