Postcards from Brighton: Peggs and son. x Universal Works.
As part of our 15-year celebrations, we went down to Brighton to catch up with our good friend Ian Peggs and his team. Our Founders, David and Steph, sat down with Ian to chat all things UW and to reminisce about our first ever wholesale order—written by Peggs & son. back in 2009. You can watch the full Q&A here:
We have also worked on a collaborative collection, which we think brings together the essence of both of our brands—honest, quality clothing that blends utility with timeless design. You can read more about how the collection came about here.
“Ian says we make it easy on him with these collaborations, but so much of this is his vision. He remembered a style he wanted [our Uniform Jacket] and suggested adapting it in a fabric we’d never used for that style. So we had to rework the pattern and figure it out, and the result is fantastic. We were happy to bring it to life. The pieces are really special.” —David Keyte, UW Co-Founder.
As well as Uniform Jackets, the collection includes Parachute Liner Jackets, Duke Pants, Bandanas and Print Pocket Tees, all of which you can shop exclusively at Peggs & son.
To mark this milestone, it only felt right to celebrate together, so we threw a party at Patterns in Brighton. A huge thank you to everyone involved in this collaboration, as well as to Ian, the Peggs & son team, and the team at Patterns.
