Good People, Good Places. Triangle Store.
Over the past few seasons, we have been connecting with our global UW family by spotlighting the Good People and Good Places within the network of our stockists. Their role in our story cannot be understated, so as always we like to show our appreciation by highlighting them and the UW fans in their community.
In our most recent instalment, we caught up with Tory and Mary, business partners and founders of Triangle Store in London, UK. An independent venture rooted in the belief of good design without following fads or fashions, they believe in conscious consumption. In other words, "Buy less, choose well and make it last" — a message we can definitely get behind. Their products are chosen for their simplicity, usefulness and beauty.
A simple concept in a simple store.
Tory wears: Kyoto Work Jacket in Dark Navy Quilted Cotton, Oxford Pant in Dark Navy Quilted Cotton. Mary wears: Zip Bomber in Mustard Wool Fleece, Pleated Track Pant in Black Cord.
They started Triangle 10 years ago as a mid-century lifestyle shop. At that point they didn’t offer clothes, but it was clear to them there was a market for that within their customer base.
Universal Works was the very first brand I approached, the unisex vibe meant all our customers bought into it and it has been a top seller ever since.
The store is located on Chatsworth Road, one of London’s longest high streets running between Homerton and Lower Clapton in the Borough of Hackney and is home to a wide variety of shops, galleries, cafes and a Sunday market. For Triangle, community is everything.
We wouldn’t be here unless local people shopped with us – we wanted to create a space that people felt comfortable in, and where people swing by for a chat as much as they do for an outfit.
It goes without saying they had no trouble finding someone worth spotlighting – enlisting Jon, who is a hairdresser, friend and loyal customer. He has featured in a number of their shoots, having turned out to be a natural in front of camera: the ideal candidate in our books! See for yourself below...
