Melton cloth.

Named after 'Melton Mowbray', the town in Leicestershire, England where the fabric was first developed, 'Melton', is a wool-blend fabric that has a tight, densely-woven weave that is brushed for a felt-like feel.

Traditionally used in the uniforms for Army officers, the landed-gentry and blue-collar workers alike due to its excellent wind and water-resistant qualities, melton cloth is also naturally crease-resistant too!

For AW21 we have made some pretty special pieces in this trusty fabric, including our 'Simple Bakers Jacket', our trusty 'Overcoat' and a fine collection of overshirts and headgear to keep your cockles warm this winter. Enjoy!
