Last Friday we presented for the third time at London Collections Men.

Presentations at LCM is a way to showcase our upcoming AW’16 collection and to kick off our ‘sale season’ where we take our newest collection of clothing around the world to show to prospective buyers from international stores. AW’16 was designed around the idea of Nottingham’s very own Goose Fair. The fun fairs arrival to the city, a 700-year-old tradition, marks the end of summer and the coming of winter when the weather is changing and it’s time to layer up.

The travelling funfair is a mesmerising mix of excitement and anticipation, noise, smells and lights. Maybe the best part is the people, a mix of colourful characters living a seemingly carefree or punk lifestyle, not without a touch of glamour, and yet a tough edge.

The memory of those characters, their sense of style and their sense of humour is the inspiration for our eclectic collection that is strong in styling: classic yet modern, with dark and sophisticated colours, using luxury yarns and soft wool suiting to hard-working cotton twills and corduroy. To present the collection we went further with the Goose Fair idea, fluorescent poster-clad walls, fun fair pop music and even the Nottingham Goose Fair delicacies of mushy peas and mint sauce and cocks on sticks were available for all who attended.

Setting up the presentation was as nerve-wracking as ever, as we had a morning to build the set (that we hauled down from Nottingham), dress and style the models, along with hair and makeup and also the food prep. The presentation was ready to just five minutes before we had to open the doors to the press and buyers but the reaction we got was top drawer.

A big thank you to everyone involved who helped make the presentation possible and also everyone who attended and made the event so special.
