About three quarters of us at UWHQ cycle to work and also try and get some miles in at the weekend. Its quite useful that Nottingham Bikeworks is just around the corner from us if we ever need some repairs, advice or a tune up.

They've been going since 2013 with a focus on helping out the community through getting people on bikes and running workshops teaching them how to fix them. They'll also take your old knackered bike off your hands as a donation and get it back up and running for someone else to enjoy or use the parts for other bikes, its recycling at it's best!

Bikeworks is a non-for-profit organisation founded by Tom Barber who's done all sorts from working in medicine to being a children's author and believes whatever the question, bikes are usually a pretty good answer.

He and his team have a passion for helping out those less fortunate and strengthening the community, working closely with Nottingham Refugee Forum, people living with mental health issues and many schools in the area to help build confidence and pass on skills through cycling and teaching maintenance.

So, if you're really into your bikes, want to learn more about fixing them or have never got on a bike since being a kid, head over to Bikeworks and Tom and the team will get you sorted.
